AXI is an Ada to X Window System interface that gives the Ada programmeraccess to the 500+ functions in the Xlib, Xt, Xmu, Xm, and Xrm. Eventsand callbacks are handled consistently and can coexist with Xapplications written in C. AXI is written in Ada and is portable to anyUNIX computer that supports X11R4. AXI preserves the C-based syntax forAda programs to take advantage of users' familiarity with a largevocabulary of library names and arguments. X Window System calls arenearly identical in C and Ada, and developers can build "hybrid"applications consisting of programs written in C and Ada sharing the samenetwork and X server.
